Shamrock Dessert Mugs

Time for dessert. Take your St. Patrick’s Day party up a notch with these fun dessert mugs. This festive dessert includes lime gelatin and lemon cream foam topping. It’s easy to make, and delicious. Follow the instructions and fill the mugs just under the rim. Place them in the refrigerator, and then add the lemon cream foam topping. Yes, it’s that easy! ☘️

The lemon cream foam includes fresh lemon juice, unflavored gelatin, sugar, Greek yogurt, and whipped cream. It creates a nice foamy topping. It’s sweet and tangy. Good flavor combination. These are best served chilled.

I got these mugs at my local Dollar Tree. They worked great and helped add that extra Irish feel to the dessert. Enjoy. ☘️

Ingredients

  • 2 (3 oz) pkgs lime gelatin*

For Lemon Cream Topping:

  • 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp unflavored gelatin
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 (5.3 oz) container Greek yogurt
  • 1 (8 oz) container whipped cream

Instructions

  • Prepare lime gelatin according to the package instructions. Fill mugs with lime gelatin, leaving about 1/2 cup from the top.
  • Place mugs in the refrigerator for 4 hours or more to allow gelatin to setup.

For the Lemon Cream Topping:

  • After lime gelatin has setup, remove from refrigerator. Set aside.
  • In a sauce pan, add fresh lemon juice and unflavored gelatin. Heat mixture for about 30 seconds. Let stand for about a minute and cool down.
  • Stir in sugar and bring to boil, about 1 minute. Stir lemon gelatin mixture. Turn off heat and let cool.
  • Add mixture to a medium bowl. Combine Greek yogurt and whipped cream. Whisk together mixture until it starts to become smooth and creamy.
