Memories with Eklektik

Ah Eklektik, good times! After two years, one of my favorite restaurants in Salt Lake City, Utah closed its doors in January 2019. Bittersweet moment for everyone but grateful for the memories. Our foodie group became good friends with owner Sion and his wife and executive chef Aliza. In the last two years, we would regularly stop by the restaurant, have good laughs and eat great Latin-fusion food.

One of my favorite quotes.

Recently, our group went to visit our dear friends one last time on Tuesday, January 22. We had a great time reminiscing and eating delicious Citrus Tiramisu. That tiramisu was like tasting spring. It always put us in a good mood after eating it. It was having a slice of sunshine. So good.

We will never forget the fun times we had in this restaurant. Here are some amazing pictures from our fun visits.

Good times with our Foodie Group

Family style dining is how we did it most of the time. It was a great way of sampling different things on the menu. We were determined to try a lot of things on the menu. Every time we ate there we always ended up in a food coma. Lots of good feels.

Look at this amazing food. These are some of our most favorite foods they had on the menu. It ranged from Patatas Bravas with the most amazing sauce (aka Secret Sauce, not sure what they put in it but it was that amazing.), Tomato Basil Bisque, Tamarind Filet (steak and blue cheese with béchamel sauce, chips and salsa and Anchiote Orange Filet.

Don’t forget the amazing desserts. Our group usually ordered dessert to go. My favorite go to dessert was the Citrus Tiramisu hands down. We also tried their Impossible Flan chocolate cake, hot chocolate and Chocolate Churro Madness. Very good.

We are so thankful for these wonderful people. We had an amazing time. I’m glad to have had this experience to further inspire me on this culinary adventure. If there’s any future trip to Mexico, we’ll have the best people to show us around and eat at the most amazing places.

Thank you for your sharing your talents with us Sion and Aliza. We will miss you and hope to stay in touch.

I love meeting people from all over the world. They become some of our greatest friends and it opens up a perspective to a world we never knew before.
