A new way to do chicken cordon bleu. This easy breaded chicken dinner is stuffed with fresh deli ham and melted pepper jack cheese. Fancy, delicious, yet simple.
Ingredients
- 1 lb skinless chicken breasts
- 4 slices pepper jack cheese
- 3 oz deli ham
- garlic powder, to taste
- Kosher salt or ground pepper, to taste
- Panko breadcrumbs
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350ºF. Prepare a baking sheet and lightly coat with nonstick spray. Place chicken on baking sheet.
- Using a sharp knife, cut 5 slits into the chicken, about 3/4 inches apart. Make sure to not cut all the way through the chicken.
- Cut pepper jack cheese into 4 squares. Slice ham into halves. Roll ham and cheese slices lengthwise. Place ham and cheese slices into slits of chicken.
- Sprinkle garlic powder, Kosher salt, ground pepper and breadcrumbs evenly over chicken.
- Place into oven and bake at 350ºF for 30 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
*For more amazing flavor, let chicken marinate overnight in the fridge. Then, warm it up again in the microwave.
